As the Thomas Kent 10K approaches once again, St Nicholas Athletics Club has been looking back at some memorable performances from recent years.
In 2022, close to 400 runners crossed the finish line.
Men’s winner:
John Meade of St Finbarr’s AC – 33:24
Women’s winner:
Carol Finn of Leevale AC – 33:24
Then in 2023, more than 400 runners took part, with two outstanding course-record performances.
Men’s winner & course record:
Sergio Ciobanu of Clonliffe Harriers AC – 31:50
Women’s winner, 2nd overall & course record:
Shone Heaslip of An Riocht AC – 33:05
Both course records still stand today.
A huge thank you to everyone who has taken part, volunteered, supported and helped make the Thomas Kent 10K such a special part of the Castlelyons community over the years.
The medal for this year’s race is still being kept under wraps and will be revealed soon.
